First, we would like to thank Chief Billy Ryan for his 6 years of dedicated service as Chief, his second time around! Thank you for your commitment, your time, and the wealth of knowledge that you have been able to share with out department. You are greatly appreciated and we congratulate you on completing your term as Chief of Department.

Taking over for (now) Deputy Chief Ryan is Chief Steven Bencosme. Chief Bencosme has served the department for 15 years. He joined at 14 years old as a Junior Firefighter and is the first Junior Firefighter in our department to rise to the rank of Chief of Department. He most recently served the past 4 years as 2nd Assistant Chief and 1st Assistant Chief. We wish you the best of luck and a great 2 years of leadership and training.

Our 1st Assistant Chief none other than Chief John Korzelius! Going back around again as Chief for the 848377337 time!!!! The man, the myth, the legend. Thank you Chief!

Coming in as the newly elected 2nd Assistant Chief (for the second time!) is former Chief of Department, Michael Tavano! Chief Tavano has served the department for almost 27 years and is the only Chief of Department in our history to serve a 3-year term (pandemic). Chief, we wish you the best and we can’t wait to work for you!

Congratulations to all of the newly elected company officers. Thank you very much to the people who allow and make this happen for all of us firefighters; the families; the support systems; the village of Sleepy Hollow; our community, and the Village Board.
